Hind Gunship

This was the first guild brush and ink sketch I completed

Inside a plane at the Newark Air Museum

I'm ashamed to say I have no idea what the name of the plane to whom this interior belongs to and I sat in it for an afternoon, sorry plane. I was getting stick for doing black and white ink drawings so tried some colour. I'll find out the name of the plane next time I go, I looked on the website and am none the wiser.

F4 Phantom Sketch

I attend sketching days at the Guild of Aviation Artists regional meetings, gets me out of the house and I spend the day with other artists - good for lonesome artists. I'll stick them up here as I do them. This one is the grabby hot end of an F4 Phantom. I can't remember the date of this, summer some time, I got sunburnt and lots of wasps were interested in a yellow patch on my Alien T-shirt

Old 'funnies'

Found these, did them a while ago. The CV one, that was from an actual email from an actual job applicant, actually.

GAVA Exhibition 2011

I had 4 pictures accepted into the Guild of Aviation Artists Painting of the Year Exhibition 2011. It will be held at the Pall Mall Galleries in London from the 18th till the 14th of July 2011. This is my first year in the Guild so I am delighted to get all 4 accepted. I joined to improve my painting and for the love of classic aircraft. I painted 2 efforts for the exhibition but they needed more work. I had some very constructive feedback from full members of the Guild and will attempt to save them. I'll post them up here for all to judge. I was surprised and happy as a clam to discover they were interested in my comic style and it was suggested I try submitting black and white images. This pleased me no end.

They are all for sale and can be viewed on the GAVA website... http://www.gava.org.uk/index.cfm?page=galleries

Hopefully they'll all be sold, in which case I am open to commissions, email me through the website linked on the right...

Look at that... 2 posts in as many minutes

slacker

I know I said I'd be posting weekly at least...no excuses.

Here's some panels from a recent run on The Boys that I was pleased with.

I've just spent an afternoon putting some new work up on the website.

everybody breathe out, my second post of all time

Here we go, it's only taken 2 odd years to figure out how this works.

I'm in the process of updating my website and plan to keep this blog on the go now I've got a bit of spare time.

I went to Bristol Comic Con at the weekend, had a great time, met some sound people. I'll pop some sketches I did up here. I think that's the sort of thing you're supposed to write...?

I'll put work up and try and give some thoughts behind what I'm trying to figure out as I'm doing it. That'll be for my own benefit as much as anyone who may read this.

I'll try and put stuff up here weekly now...I've said it so I have to stick to it.
